This magazine ad was designed to re-introduce its Birthday Cake candy bar to households with young children. With no marketing and promotion created for this chocolate flavour, this ad created an opportunity to further increase brand awareness through print and digital platforms.
Reflection
With long-form copywriting like sales pages, email newsletters, and brochures under my belt, I wanted to take on this spec magazine ad to try my hand at short-form copywriting.
I focused on two concepts in writing this ad:
- Everyone can celebrate like it’s their birthday anytime, anywhere, and
- I wanted the sentence to be completed by the candy bar itself.
The tone was fun, upbeat, and colourful to reflect the style of the candy bar and appeal to families with young children.
